Fennia, kotipiirivakuutus
Fennia / Onnenkuvat
The film opens on a photographed wall of pine panelling with a framed picture hanging on it, a naive painting of a red house behind a white picket fence, a gold FENNIA plaque set into the mount like a gallery label. The camera goes into the picture and the picture begins to move, and the rest of the film stays inside it: coloured pencil and crayon on paper, a scalloped tile roof, an apple tree with orange fruit, a striped rowing boat pulled up on the grass. Flat cut-out figures come through the scene in turn, a man on the path, a woman in an apron waving from the doorway, a woman with a child on a tricycle, a dog on the grass, all moved on the rostrum against the painted ground. Nothing dramatic is allowed to happen while the voice-over sets out the offer, which is the point: an insurance commercial in which no accident occurs. At the end the same gold plaque fades up again, now hanging on the picket fence inside the painting rather than on the frame outside it, with "ON REILU TALO" [it is a fair house] beneath.
