Take & Bake Pizza

c. 1998 · Commercial · 30 seconds

HK / Publicis-Törmä

Plain table-top photography: wrapped fresh pizzas propped and stacked on white shelves against a perforated white wall, labels out, lit flat and bright so it reads as a shop fixture rather than a kitchen. One pizza tips up onto its edge and spins like a coin while the rest stay put, its label smearing into a blur, and this appears to be done in camera rather than optically, the only movement in an otherwise still film. A topped pizza then slides into a lit domestic oven, and the last shot is the baked one on a dark counter, the cheese browned with red and yellow pieces across it, a board and herbs behind. Cold shelf, hot oven, finished pizza: the structure is the product name acted out, and the pack shot and the appetite shot are the same object photographed twice. The only words are a sung 'Hei, baby!' and the end card is the HK crest rendered in three dimensions on black. There is no drawing or animation in it beyond the spin.
