Coloured streaks of light swing across black like a long exposure of moving lamps, filmed rather than drawn, and they keep swinging for the whole ten seconds. Single letters push forward out of the dark in soft mottled colour, a blue and red n, then a magenta n big enough to fill the frame, then a small shape of magenta, blue and yellow floating among the trails that could as easily be an eye as an a. The wordmark they assemble into is hand-painted rather than typeset: white brush letters at different sizes sitting on different baselines, a heavy n anchoring the middle, a swash swept underneath in one stroke. Holding painted letters against live light trails keeps the whole field moving after the letters have stopped, so the ident never settles into a static logo the way a printed one would. It ends on the finished lockup with PROMOTING FILMS BY WOMEN in spaced capitals beneath, and there is no voice-over.
